Maternity

Once your pregnancy is confirmed, please make an appointment with the midwife. Your care will be undertaken by the practice midwife. After your baby is born, you will be seen initially by the midwife and thereafter by the health visitor.

Diabetes management

Lisa Stoddart our Diabetes Specialist Nurse runs the diabetes clinics. Annual checks are made on non-insulin diabetics and routine queries can be made to the nurses. Insulin-dependent diabetics may be referred for care by the community or hospital specialist diabetic team.

Asthma and Chronic Bronchitis management

The practice nurses, are responsible for the programme of annual asthma and COPD checks.

Annual Health Checks

The practice nurses, under Dr Jarvis, are responsible for the programme of annual health checks which are recommended for people with previous heart disease, stroke, kidney disorders or mental health problems. Please ask at the practice if you feel that you should have been offered such a check but have not.

High Blood Pressure

We recommend that people with hypertension should have a blood pressure check every 6 months, or more often if it is uncontrolled. The checks can be undertaken by any member of our nursing team.

Adult Immunisations/Vaccinations

Immunisations and vaccinations are available by appointment with the practice nurses. Please ask for advice. A full range of travel vaccinations and anti-malarial drugs is available at the surgery.

Minor Surgery

A minor surgery clinic is held by Dr Jarvis.

Joint Injections

Dr Jarvis performs a number of different joint injections.
