Please call between 11:00 and 12:30 or after 15:00 to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times.
Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice. As guideline:
- X-RAY RESULTS can take up to 1 week to return.
- BLOOD TESTS normally take 3-4 days, but some can take up to 10 days.
- URINE RESULTS usually take a week
We ask you to take responsibility for your health and encourage you to contact us for the results of your investigations. DO NOT ASSUME THAT IF YOU HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING IT MUST BE ALRIGHT.
When your GP has reviewed your test results the receptionist will be able to inform you of the outcome, when you phone in. If you have any further questions or concerns you will be asked to book a telephone appointment with your doctor.
If you wish to discuss any results/letters from the hospital please inform the receptionist the reason for your call so she can make sure the result/letter has arrived at the practice and is easily available to the doctor.
